All those who oppose the new system are deemed traitors and form the Rebel Resistance. In an effort to wipe out the rebels, the new republic authorises the engineering of the perfect killing machine – an artificially intelligent soldier named LIA (Samantha Talbott). While in battle, LIA is captured by the Resistance and reprogrammed to behave as a human who can think and feel independent thoughts.
