The Main Force Patrol do their best to lay down the law while the gangs scavenge the lands and terrorise the population. When a gang, led by Toecutter (Hugh Keays-Byrne), finds out that ‘Mad’ Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson) and his partner, Goose (Steve Bisley), both officers with the MFP, were responsible for the death of one of their members, Nightrider (Vincent Gil), they kill Goose and Max’s wife, Jessie (Joanne Samuel), and son, Sprog (Brendan Heath). With nothing to live for, Max methodically hunts the gang down.
