The head of the family, Jason (Tim Blake Nelson), is an alcoholic lawyer who oversees the lives of his children with cynical monologues delivered through a drunken haze. Quentin (Jacob Loeb), the oldest child, goes to Harvard, but he remains close with his sister, Caddy (Anna O’Reilly). Second son Jason (Scott Haze) attempts to rule the family with an iron fist, though he is full of resentment towards Caddy. However, all of the siblings try to pull together to care for their brother, Ben (James Franco), who is developmentally disabled.
