Watch Movies in HD - Free TrialAs a young boy, Allen Bauer (David Kreps) is rescued from drowning off Cape Cod by a young mermaid (Shayla Mackarvich). Years later, as an adult, Allen (Tom Hanks) returns to the same location and is once again rescued by the same mermaid (Daryl Hannah). Using maps from a sunken ship and Allen’s wallet that was dropped into the sea, the mermaid decides to search for him. She comes ashore at the Statue of Liberty, where she is arrested for indecent exposure. She is placed into Allen’s care after they find his wallet in her possession. The pair fall in love, though the mermaid, now called Madison, has a problem that could ruin everything for her: if her legs get wet, she will be revealed as a mermaid. Something that could easily happen as a scientist, Dr. Walter Kornbluth (Eugene Levy), knows who she is and is determined to expose her.
