The group believe they’re victims of the credit crisis, though in reality they’ve all lost their jobs due to their idleness and poor punctuality. They all claim benefits but have them ended after threatening an official. With no other choice they turn to crime. When the local police fail to stop their crime spree and Maaskantje is in ruins, the Ministry of Defence in The Hague decides to wipe the village off the map.
