He forgets school and ends up working for Tuddy (Frank DiLeo) and Paul Cicero (Paul Sorvino), who eventually bring him into their ‘family’. As an older man, Henry (Ray Liotta) works alongside James Conway (Robert De Niro) and Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci), two psychotic gangsters who risk his life when they kill Billy Batts (Frank Vincent), a made man from another crew. Tommy is killed in retribution for the murder, though by this point Henry’s life is already crumbling around him. He is eventually arrested for numerous narcotics offences and to stay out of prison he has to betray the family that means so much to him. While the people he loves go to jail, Henry and his family go into the witness protection program.
