The pair are stuck in a vicious circle with Jean slowly destroying herself with an alcohol addiction. John has his friend, Shane (Will Poulter), for support, though Jean only has her son and her counsellor, Jim (Michael Smiley). Jean’s only hope is an expensive spell in rehab. Unfortunately, this kind of care doesn’t come cheap and to get the money needed John has to reconsider the type of driving jobs he takes on – jobs that were already starting to blur the shady moral lines that exist for so many people on the edge of society.
